I never have a bad thing to say about the food at Calda. Great food, nice atmosphere since it was redone. Chicken madeira in the marsala sauce, chicken parm and chicken rollatine are the favorites in my house. All the food is cooked fresh to order which makes it easy to edit out the ingredients we don't like. My nephew is obsessed with the seasoned fries and penne alla vodka. It's a little pricey but you get what you pay for, right?

Ordered two pizzas and garlic knots. The person on the other end of the line was polite and friendly, the delivery time was as accepted. Upon biting into the pizza the crust was thin and crunchy, there was a perfect amount of cheese (not too much and not too little), however, the pizza was salty. After drinking some water, I decided to try the garlic knot. The garlic knot was soft delicious bread on the inside with garlic and butter on the outside. The garlic and butter were delicious mix, however, again there was too much salt and I had to grab a drink of water afterwards. Over all this meal would have been a lot better with less salt, I don't think that I would try this place again, unless someone else tried it first and told me that the salt content has been decreased. In the meantime I will try the other pizza places that are abundant over long island.

This review is strictly about the pizza, I haven't had the other food here. They make an amazing grilled chicken balsamic slice that I come here for...no other place makes it quite like them!

My husband and I have been meaning to try it for a while and finally went yesterday and it turned out to be their Grand Opening Party. I have to say, the staff were so so nice. I hope it's their regular staff and it remains that way because it makes the experience so much more enjoyable. The inside is nicely arranged, there is the takeout station to your left and a dining area to the right (the same as when it was Marsala). They basically redid the entire place which was sad to me because I ate at Marsala's so often but I can understand them wanting their own identity and they did a fabulous job, it's really nice. Most of the food was good or really good, there are some areas that need improvement but for the most part you can taste that they are using fresh ingredients, quality meat and seafood. The Calamari had perfect texture and seemed fresh. My husband said the chicken on his Chicken Parm was really really good (and he's tough to please). Some of the food was a little bland such as the sauce they bring out with the bread at the beginning and the Cesar Salad dressing. I don't know what was going on with the sauce but my husband said it kind of tasted like Hunts Ketchup and I felt like he hit the nail right on the head. I was surprised to find the Cesar Salad so bland because the portion was huge and the lettuce was perfectly fresh but there just wasn't any flavor. I got the Bar Pie Pizette (thin crust, marinara, fresh mozzarella, shredded mozzarella, basil and olive oil) and I thought it was amazing. We also go the Warmed Brownie and it was to die for. It's hard to get an idea of what their concept is On the one hand they have lovely Italian entrees, pastas, pizza etc but then they have Gyros, Souvlakis ad Burgers. I know that years ago most pizza places sold that but Calda is so nice inside, it has more of a restaurant feel so it's confusing. My feeling is the they want to offer wide selection and I think there are some people who would love that kind of variety but I think it could be tough on a kitchen and affect the quality. I think it's worth giving this place a chance. It seemed to me that they really wanted everyone's feedback so they could do their final tweaking and it seemed that they really cared. I would say for the most part, this is a great local family restaurant and will get better. I will definitely be back and update my review.

I live in Hicksville, so I love the Calda pizza locations at Hicksville and Levittown. I decided to order from Massapequa's location today, and I've gotta say, I'm very disappointed. i ordered coffee, and the delivery guy gave me the bag soaked through with coffee and basically ran away. The plain neapolitan pie was super salty. I only had one slice. I ordered the chicken noodle soup, and that too was so salty I downed a whole bottle of water to get through the whole meal. The garlic knots, however, were amazing--super soft and had a little bite to them. You've gotta try them! I'm sure they're still getting their stuff together since they opened fairly recently, but since Calda is a little pricier than other pizza joints in Massapequa, I'll probably skip this place next time.

For years we have been ordering buffalo chicken pizza from Marsala, and it was the best around. So a few weeks ago we decided to place our same order, but what we didn't know is that the restaurant changed hands, but was obvious when the pizza arrived. Our pizza that was usually around $27 with tax was now $32. $5 more is just insane. The pizza dough was undercooked, no support to hold any of the toppings. I doubt their pepperoni would be able to be eaten without a knife and fork if the crust was as underdone as ours. The chicken was hard as a rock. I took a piece off and banged it against the plate. I swear if I bit into that piece I would have broken a tooth. The buffalo sauce wasn't spicy. The point of ordering a buffalo chicken pie is to get that nice bite of buffalo sauce that this pizza was severely lacking. Also, the pizza arrived to us cold. It took about an hour for delivery but my guess is that it was sitting around for half that time. With the variety of different pizza places in the area, I'll be skipping Calda all together.

My friend used to work at this pizza place and told me some interesting things. He told me the Bosses were part of a coven back in the old country. They committed ritual sacrifice of small goats and lambs and were rewarded by their dark master with the gifts of amazing pizza. The towns folk however were noticing all the goats and lambs were missing and the inquiry led them straight to the coven. Not wanting to deal with angry mobs with torches and pitchforks, the owners flew to America to start up the business fresh. Not wanting to repeat history, the owners decided to make pizza the old fashioned way with skill and hard work. This however (as you can see with some of the reviews) was not working out. The owners were then backed into a financial corner and the only option that was set before them was to return to the old ways with the old gods. A pact was sealed with the demon Caldarra and the recipe for pizza forged from the fires of hell was bequeathed to the owners. Six Cows and fourteen pigs were to be slaughtered before the harvest moon each cycle, such is the price of such delicious cuisine The sacrificed animals became fresh pepperoni. So next time you bite into a delicious slice of pepperoni pizza, try and listen for the sound of your own soul being consumed by darkness. Also good parking in the front, located right near Uncle Giuseppe's.

Pretty Tough reviews for these guys and their opening in Massapequa. We're new to the area, and this place has pizza that is WAY better than the two different Ginos we went to. We've been ordering pizza for the guys doing work on our house every day for the past few weeks, and these guys are friendly and fast, they're right up the block. The manwich said that the storefront is clean and nice, it must be newly done. The pizza is good, the garlic knots are great. We had some food from the kitchen - chicken piccata (little too lemoney for me, but it was well made), rice balls (good...nothing earth shattering but not bad), I like it, they're really nice there, no complaints. I'm sure we'll try food again soon so I guess I'll have an update soon!

I've been meaning to try Calda since they took over from the last owner. I'm finally glad I did. The restaurant looks totally refreshed and the obnoxious owner and counter staff are all gone. Not only is the food superior to what they were trying to sell before and the friendly atmosphere at the restaurant is a neighborhood pleasure to deal with. Even the small gestures of offering a soda while I am waiting for My to go order to be ready was unusual and unexpected. I have to comment that the shrimp monochia was probably one of the best tasting I've had at any Italian pizzeria on long island! The portion could have been slightly larger with maybe one more shrimp and the penne was cooked a little overdone but the meal was extremely enjoyable and they certainly earned a customer back in me and my business!

My family and I have been regulars of Calda at the Levittown location since 2008, so we were thrilled to finally get the chance to dine at their new location in Massapequa this past Friday night. The same fresh quality, delicious food and huge portions were served in every dish that we ordered, and we ordered A LOT!! We didn't have a dinner, we had a feast!! A very nice hostess immediately greeted us and Lisa was our server. She went above and beyond to make our first visit there a great one!! The Chicken Francaise had the perfect blend of lemon and butter sauce, the Lasagne was loaded with meat with nice big pockets of Ricotta Cheese throughout, the Chicken Parm was so tender and made with the freshest Mozzerella and the side of Meatballs that we ordered, the portion was enough to have as a dinner. We also ordered the Mozzarella Sticks which were delicious as always. All dishes come with a side of Pasta or Salad, and that evening we chose the Penne in Meat Sauce and the other in Vodka Sauce. I will stand by my other review in 2008 when I said you will never taste any better, and to this day I haven't!! For dessert, my husband and I split the Tartufo. It was out of this world delicious, and served with Calda's homemade whipped cream. This is a must order when choosing dessert, it is definitely enough for two. My only problem now is choosing which Calda location to eat at. One thing is for sure, whichever I choose, I will never be disappointed, and, I will surely be back soon!! Congratulations Calda and best wishes for the same huge success you have had in your other restaurants!!

If only they had answered the phone as Calda and not Marsalas i would have thought twice. Came to pick up food and was so looking forward to the lasgna which i havent had in a while. First i was a bit shocked at the cost $26! It used to be $9.95 a dish. I wouldnt mind if it was good b. uThe sauce was bland the lasgna was oily and it was all sausage no ground beef. Neither my husband nor i enjoyed it. I miss my old Marsalas with good food and reasonable prices. The only thing that was good were the garlic knots. My husband used to get annoyed traveling so far for Marsalas but would stop once he ate their food, now i guess i wont have to listen to him gripe because we won't be coming back.

Went for the first time last week hoping for the same great food marsala had or better. The food was bad. Food was tasteless and Pasta floating in oil and water in my dish, wife's salmon was floating in oil as well. Baked clams were fresh but the breadcrumbs were tasteless. Waitress, took order then disappeared. Very sad that a once good place in marsala sold and was replaced by this. Someone needs to open a good italian place in massapequa.

Don't think this deserves a star. My salmon over toasted asparagus was literally drowning in oil. I have never witnessed such an abomination as I did when I dined here. The food is in edible. I was sorely disappointed. Marsala was amazing- calda was a huge disappointment (had to post one star for my review to be posted on yelp. For the record: I give this review zero stars)

I work in Massapequa and have many choices when it comes to getting lunch. I love going to Calda's because not only is the food delicious, but the staff is friendly and extremely helpful and the prices are reasonable. We will definitely continue to get lunch from there!! THANKS CALDA!!

If I could give this no stars it would deserve it. After years of getting my food at marsalas I thought I would try caldas. Sorry to say but the food was terrible !!!! The fettuccine Alfredo was terrible, who ever cooked it must have forgotten to stir the pasta as it cooked because the noodles were all stuck together I ate what I could and threw the rest away. The other two dishes we ordered were just as bad. My husband ordered the chicken scarpello ,the sauce was gross and we asked for the pasta on the side but it came with NO sauce on it just dry pasta, and the last dish was chicken al zantino just terrible it had no taste at all and again no sauce on the pasta !!!! The sauce was supposed to be a reduction but it was just tasteless liquid . The only thing that was semi ok was the salad but that only came with one small dressing. Now the price was 70 bucks!!!! Not worth the money trust me when there's WAY BETTER places to spend your money on in massapequa. Calda step up your game!!!!!!
